Meet Asia Lantz

I didn't grow up dreaming of becoming a travel advisor. In fact, if you had asked me years ago where my career would take me, I never would've guessed I'd end up here. Everything changed after a trip to Ireland in 2015, where I somehow managed to book castles across the country on Groupon (yes, really 😂). That trip completely shifted the way I saw the world. I came home knowing I wanted to help other people experience that same feeling... the kind of trip that stays with you long after you've unpacked your suitcase.

Like so many advisors, I jumped into this industry fueled by passion. And while passion is an incredible place to start, I quickly realized it wasn't enough to build a sustainable business. I spent years quoting trips late at night, constantly questioning my pricing, saying yes to everything, and wondering if everyone else had some secret I didn't. I was working incredibly hard, but I wasn't building something that actually supported the life I wanted.

Everything changed when I stopped trying to build my business the way everyone else said I should. Instead of chasing someone else's version of success, I started creating systems that protected my time, setting boundaries that served both me and my clients, charging for the expertise I'd worked so hard to develop, and building a business around the life I actually wanted to live—not the other way around.

Today, I'm incredibly grateful to have built an award-winning travel business that's been recognized by the American Society of Travel Advisors and TravelPulse, but those awards aren't what I'm most proud of. What means the most to me is knowing I've built a business that still feels completely like me. One where colorful hair, dad jokes, gardening, bucket-list adventures, and exceptional client care all belong in the same sentence.

That's exactly why I created Charted with Asia. I'm not here to teach you how to become a copy of me, or anyone else. I'm here to help you build the business that works for your life. The one with clear strategy, intentional systems, healthy boundaries, and the confidence to stop second-guessing yourself every step of the way. I truly believe this industry doesn't need more advisors trying to fit into someone else's mold. It needs more advisors who are willing to build thoughtful, profitable businesses that reflect who they really are.

If my story proves anything, it's that you don't have to choose between being successful and being yourself. I honestly believe you can have both.

Nobody Talks About This Part.

When I came back to the travel industry after COVID as an independent contractor, I thought I was prepared. I knew how to book incredible vacations, take care of my clients, and sell travel, but no one had ever taught me how to actually run a business.

So I did what so many travel advisors do. I quoted trips late into the night. I answered emails at all hours because I thought being available 24/7 made me a better advisor. I undercharged for my time (or didn't charge at all), constantly second-guessed my pricing, and wondered if everyone else had somehow been handed a secret playbook that I had completely missed.

I burned out. More than once. The hardest part for me wasn't the long hours, it was feeling like I was working so hard without knowing whether I was actually building something sustainable.

That season changed everything. It forced me to stop asking, "How do I book more travel?" and start asking, "How do I build a business that actually supports my life?"

That question became the foundation for everything I teach today. Because I never want another travel advisor to feel like they're figuring it all out alone the way I did.
